Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center
A stay in Hanoi built around the centre's daily classes, arranged on request.
The Hanoi centre does not run a packaged retreat. There is no fixed programme, no set dates and no published rate.
What it can do is help arrange somewhere to stay in Tây Hồ, near the centre, so that a visitor can attend the daily classes without crossing the city each morning. The practice itself is the centre's ordinary timetable, which runs every day of the week.
The timetable sets the shape of the day. On a Tuesday, for example:
05:00 — group meditation · 06:00 — all-levels class · 08:00 — all-levels class · 09:00 — gentle yoga · 12:00 — all-levels class · 18:30 — all-levels class
Other days differ, and the full week is on the Courses page. Satsang — meditation, chanting and a talk — is held on Wednesday and Sunday evenings from 18:30 to 20:00 and is free. Taking part in the chanting is optional.
For a stay of four weeks, the beginner course matches the length: twelve sessions, three a week, starting every month. Four schedules run each month — Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings; Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday late mornings; and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The course works through the basic postures, with sessions on the theory of the five points of yoga. Open classes can be attended alongside it.
Drop-in, weekly and monthly options are available, and the first class is free. Classes are taught in English, except the gentle yoga class, the children's class and the 5:15 online class, which are taught in Vietnamese.
The centre closes on Monday after the 07:00 class.
