Supporting Health and Healing Through Yoga
Sivananda Yoga Health Educator Training (SYHET)
Become a Yoga Health Educator
800-Hour Professional Training in Yoga Health Education
This comprehensive 800-hour professional training prepares students to apply the Five Points of Yoga and the Four Paths of Yoga in a therapeutic and holistic way. Through integrated study and practice, participants develop the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to support health, balance, and self-healing through the teachings of yoga.
“The goal of the Sivananda Yoga Health Educator is to empower participants in their own self-healing through the practice of asana, pranayama, conscious relaxation, a vegetarian diet, positive thinking, and meditation.”

Therapeutic Yoga Approach
Students gain practical tools, foundational principles, and philosophical understanding that create a strong framework for continued study and professional development throughout the program. Emphasis is placed on understanding the subtler causes of stress, imbalance, and disease within the individual from a yogic and holistic perspective.
Common health conditions explored within the training include respiratory and cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as mental and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders.
The curriculum includes in-depth study of yoga psychology, the therapeutic effects of meditation, the relationship between karma and disease, counseling approaches rooted in the Vedic sciences, Ayurvedic psychology, and the underlying causes of addictive patterns and behavior. Through this integrated approach, the Yoga Health Educator develops both the knowledge and intuitive sensitivity needed to become a compassionate and effective instrument of healing.
