Introduction
The Sivananda Yoga Resort offers a supportive and peaceful environment for the practice and healing wisdom of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine from India, translates as the “science of life.” Practiced for thousands of years, Ayurveda—like yoga—takes a holistic approach to health, addressing the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected aspects of well-being.
In addition to its therapies and natural remedies, Ayurveda offers guidance on lifestyle, nutrition, and daily practices that support balance and help prevent disease. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, Ayurveda seeks to address the underlying causes of imbalance, supporting healing and the restoration of harmony throughout the whole person.

The science of Ayurveda emerged from deep observation of the natural world—from the elements that compose all of creation to the rhythms of the day and the changing seasons. It offers a way of living in harmony with nature, supporting balance, health, and inner well-being.

At the Yoga Resort, the natural surroundings support a quieter and more balanced way of living. Surrounded by trees, gardens, fresh mountain air, and the changing rhythms of nature, guests are invited to slow down, restore their energy, and reconnect with a deeper sense of well-being.
One of the core principles of Ayurveda is that the body possesses an innate wisdom that naturally moves toward balance and health. The peaceful natural environment of the resort supports this healing intelligence and invites it to unfold more fully.

As daily rhythms and routines are central to Ayurveda, we encourage those interested in Ayurvedic living to experience our Yoga Vacation Program. Surrounded by a peaceful natural environment and supported by a balanced daily schedule of meditation, spiritual teachings, wholesome plant-based meals, and Sivananda Yoga classes, guests are invited to restore balance, renew their energy, and reconnect with a healthier way of living.
Our Expertise
The Yoga Resort has developed its Ayurveda programs in collaboration with the experienced doctors of Vaidyagrama, an Ayurvedic healing center near Coimbatore in South India. Ayurvedic doctors (vaidyas) from Vaidyagrama regularly visit the resort to provide training and education for our staff, and members of our team have also travelled there to participate in immersive health and wellness programs. Through this ongoing exchange and study, we continue to deepen our understanding and application of Ayurveda, often described as the sister science of yoga.
