The group meditation or “Satsang” is the heart of Yoga teachings and provides one of the most effective means for progress in spiritual life. Satsang means literally "company of the wise," or a meeting of like-minded people gathered for spiritual practice. No previous knowledge or experience of Yoga is required, and everyone is invited to participate. Each session includes 30 minutes of silent meditation, beginning with guided instruction, 30 minutes of devotional chanting, and a short lecture or reading on Yoga philosophy.
