This schedule is followed 6 days a week, with one day off for resting, studying, or touring the area.

Certification

Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, and are entitled Yoga Siromani(teacher of yoga). This training is registered by and fulfills the requirements of the Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification.

Location

The course is offered at K'Lan resort in the temperate climate of Da Lat.  Da Lat is a very popular destination for its cool and stable weather, which hovers between a pleasant 15°C (average daily minimum) to 24°C (average daily maximum) and attractive landscape of colonial villas, gardens, lakes and rolling hills. Located around 1,400 meters above the sea level, it is indeed an ideal place for Yoga retreat, summer escape and on-top-of-the-list rest and relaxation site in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.  Da Lat market has always been a must-see site for visitors with its locally-made specialties such as artichoke tea, candied fruits, coffee and the finest cool climate vegetables and flowers in Vietnam.

Arrival and Departure

Arrival - 11am  February 24, 2018 

Departure - 9:30pm March 25, 2018 or 12pm March 26, 2018 

By Air - If you are flying from a far away country to Vietnam, we recommend to book a flight to Dalat with Vietnam Airlines. Take any major airline to fly to Tan Son Nhat (SGN) airport located in Ho Chi Minh City.  Then take a local flight on Vietnam Airlines to Lien Khuong Airport in Da Lat.  

By Bus - If you want to travel by bus it is 8 hours to Dalat from HCM.  The address is - Thanh Buoi Bus station:  202-204 Lê Hồng Phong, District 5 , Hochiminh.  When you arrive in Dalat there is a shuttle from the bus station to downtown Dalat.

What to Bring

Two sets of uniforms are provided, but you will need to bring modest, comfortable clothes for asana practice plus casual clothes.
• The weather is temperate, so bring a sweater, raincoat, and good walking shoes for hiking.
• Bring your own yoga mat, meditation cushion, meditation shawls, blankets, toiletries, books, notebooks, pens, flashlights, alarm clocks. Postage stamps will be available in the boutique.
• Banking: It is preferable that you change money at the airport and bring enough for your purchases in the boutique, transportation fees for weekend outings, field trips and extras like massage, etc.

Admission / Guidelines

Admission - Though a basic knowledge of yoga postures and philosophy is helpful, beginners are welcome. The course is intense and demands discipline. You must be sincere in your desire to learn and follow the rules. Please note that in keeping with the ancient Yoga tradition, spiritual practices such as meditation, mantra chanting, ceremonies, selfless service and study of philosophy constitute a large part of this program. Please do not attend this course if you just want to practice postures, breathing and relaxation. To preserve the spiritual atmosphere of the ashram, no meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, tobacco or narcotics are allowed. Participation in all classes and punctuality are mandatory.

Guidelines

• Participation in all classes and punctuality are mandatory.
• Wearing of uniforms is expected for all satsangs and lectures.
• The basic guidelines are: No drugs, alcohol, smoking, non-vegetarian food items, nudity and promiscuity, weapons, loud music, backbiting and profanity.
• You need to have health insurance or sign a medical health release.

Teachers and Translation

The course will be taught in English with senior Sivananda teachers with simultaneous translation into Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian.

Teachers and Translators:

Swami Sitaramananda

Swami Sitaramananda is an international teacher of  Yoga, Meditation, and Philosophy for more then 35 years.  She is a direct disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda and is a representative of the teachings of International SYVC in Vietnam.  She is in charge of West coast USA centers and Asia centers.  She is presently the main teacher of the Yoga Teachers Training Courses offered at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm, Grass Valley, CA where she is serving as the director for more then 20 years.  She also teaches yearly at other Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashrams & Centers in India, Bahamas, Japan, and China as well as Centers along the West Coast USA, San Francisco and Los Angeles and has taught in her birth country, Vietnam, since 2010.

Swami Pranavananda

Swami Pranavananda, hails from the USA, and has been a Yoga and Meditation teacher since 1995 in the US and abroad.  He teaches mainly the Hatha Yoga and Anatomy sections for the TTC courses.  He was the director of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA for a few years.  Currently he is serving in Vietnam teaching in the Hochiminh center.  He enjoys taking classes to learn Vietnamese.


Swami Narayanananda

Swami Narayanananda, who was born in London, England, has been a teacher of Yoga and meditation in the International Sivananda Yoga vedanta Centers since 1999. He has served in the ashrams in California and New York, also as director of the centers in New York and Chicago. He is a regular teacher for our Teacher Training and Advanced Teacher training courses in the USA, India and Vietnam. Swami Narayanananda has a compassionate and accessible teaching style firmly based in his own practice and in the study of scripture.


Swami Adi Parashaktiananda

Ananta Chaitanya is a dedicated Sadhak and Hatha Yoga practitionner and teacher graduated from Sivananda Teachers Training course in 2009 at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, CA. He took the first monastic vow from Sivananda lineage in 2011. He has been traveling yearly to Vietnam as Swami Sitaramananda's assistant and  has been teaching the Hatha Yoga classes for the Teachers Training Course.  He was also part of the teaching team for the Sivananda Sadhana Intensive 14 days course, which emphasis is the daily practice of pranayama.


Ganga Chaitanya

Ganga My Hoang graduated from International Sivananda Yoga teacher training course 2009 and Advanced yoga teacher training course 2010 in Yoga Farm, Grass Valley USA. She is also a graduate of the "Yoga as Medicine", "Yoga Psychology", and "Ayurveda and Yoga Wellness" course. After a few months service at the Sivananda Yoga centers in San Francisco and Grass Valley she returned to Vietnam and assumes responsibility of directing the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Ho chi minh City.


Saraswati

Saraswati graduated from International Sivananda Yoga teacher training course 2010 in Vietnam. She is also a graduate of the, "Yoga Psychology",  "Ayurveda and Yoga Wellness" course and "Ayuvedic massage therapist". She has been a volunteer staff at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta center in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam since 2010. After a few months service at the Sivananda Yoga centers in New Plymouth, New Zealand and Grass Valley, California she returned to Vietnam and assumes responsibility of directing the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Dalat City. She enjoys teaching beginner courses, yoga for kids along with ayurveda and healing.

Machiko

Machiko, is a Japanese Sivananda Yoga teacher residing in Tokyo, Japan. She has been the Japanese translator and assistant during TTC in Vietnam since 2010.  She took TTC in the year 1993 and is one of the longest Sivananda devotees in the organization.  She has been teacher/staff at the Yoga Farm, the yoga center in New York and the Ashram in Nassau, Bahamas.  Currently she is the director of the Tokyo SYVC center.

Sivani

Sivani started her yoga journey in 2011 in Europe and took her Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Course in France and her 500-hour training early 2014 in India. She has been translating for Swami Sitaramananda since 2014 in both Vietnam and China.  She is an excellent translator between Chinese and English.  She helping to open and direct the first ever SYVC center in Chengdu, China in 2015.

Amba

Amba started to exposme Yoga from 2007 at Sivananda Yoga Farm, USA. She graduated from International Sivananda Yoga teacher training course 2010 and Advanced yoga teacher training course 2016 in Vietnam. She is also a graduate of the "Yoga Psychology" and "Ayuvedic massage therapist". She has been a volunteer staff at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta center in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and supporting for TTC in Vietnam since 2011.
