Course Details

The course introduces how the mind works and how to control the mind, and how to create positive thoughts. This is also an opportunity for participants to withdraw the senses and to stay away from the world of objects that create lust to observe, and understand of one's own mind. The goal is the peace of mind. You will practice yoga posture, yoga breath and meditation twice daily, participate in daily Kirtan recitals to nourish positive energy and connect with your own consciousness.

Curriculum

  • Proper Exercise - Twelve Basic Asanas, with Variations
  • Proper Breathing - Pranayama – yogic breathing exercises
  • Proper Relaxation - Savasana
  • Proper Diet - Yogic vegetarian diet
  • Positive Thinking and Meditation

Daily Schedule

  • 6-7:30am...........................Satsang: Silent meditation, chanting, and lecture
  • 8-10am........................Yoga Class
  • 10am............................Vegetarian Brunch
  • 11am............................Karma Yoga
  • 1-3pm..........................Yoga Workshop
  • 4-6pm..........................Yoga Class
  • 6pm..............................Vegetarian Dinner
  • 8-10pm........................Satsang: Silent meditation, chanting, and lecture

What to Bring

In-door slippers, loose comfortable clothes, notebooks, meditation shawl or blanket, yoga mat, flashlight.  All books and materials are available in our boutique.

Teacher

Swami Pranavananda

Swami Pranavananda, hails from the USA, and has been a Yoga and Meditation teacher since 1995 in the US and abroad.  He teaches mainly the Hatha Yoga and Anatomy sections for the TTC courses.  He was the director of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA for a few years.  Currently he is serving in Vietnam teaching in the Hochiminh center.  He enjoys taking classes to learn Vietnamese.
